En Masse is a performance choir with a difference; school founder Robin Gair in 1993 formed it as the performance group for the Southern School Of Popular Singing. In 1995 Gareth Henderson a vocal student and gigging singer joined the vocal group and as Robin’s son-in-law, he was the perfect predecessor and along with his wife Louise they ran the group with Robin taking it from strength to strength.
The group appeared on TV news when only Elton John and the Spice Girls in the area it was released beat their first single to the top of the charts!
Over the years, En Masse was the breeding ground for an enormous amount of talent with many of the members forming small harmony acts and starting to earn money from their talents, but it was always the thrill of the big shows and the strong social bond that kept them all coming back for more.
In 2007 Gareth and Louise decided to step down and focus on their young family and growing vocal school and recording studio.
In 2010 Gareth and Louise along with new business partners Lucy Roberts and Kevin Wilson decided to re-ignite the fire and found there was a huge appetite to bring En Masse back.
En Masse have gone from strength to strength and put on two shows per year to sell out crowds, as well as other performances across the South coast. Now run and owned by Lucy Roberts and Kevin Wilson, after Gareth and Louise made the decision to move to Australia in 2015.
The exceptional vocals that have become synonymous with En Masse are being well cared for through our dynamic young team. Kara Craddock leads the choir and is responsible for all the outstanding harmony arrangements. A qualified vocal coach and graduate of ACM with a vocal degree, Kara was hand picked by Gareth to take over responsibly for his legacy. Helen Abbott has stepped up from front row performer to choreographer and we have recently added Izzii Moulsedale to the coaching staff.
En Masse is a fun, friendly environment full of like minded people who love to sing and perform.
